Ashta Bhairavam for Fevers

Ashta Bhairavam is a classical siddha herbo-mineral preparation explained in Siddha vaidya thirattu. 

It is used in the treatment of various fevers. This medicine will also produce purgative action. The main ingredients of this medicine are

1.  Purified Mercury
2.  Purified Sulfur
3. Purified Calomel(Pooram)(Mercurous Chloride)
4. Purified Corrosive sublimate ( Purified Veeram)
5. Purified Cinnabar (Purified Lingam)
6. Purified Aconite ( Karu nabhi)
7. Nutmeg – jathikka
8. Dry Ginger (Zingiber Officinale)(Chukku,  Sunthi)
   
9. Long Pepper (Piper longum)(Thippili,  Magadhi)
10. Black Pepper (Piper Nigrum) (Milaku Maricha)
11. Mace - Jathi pathiri
12. Cloves – Lavangam
    
13. Purified Croton Seed Cotyledons - Nervalam
14. Lime Juice
15. Breast Milk
16. Lippia Juice - Poduthelai juice
17. Wedelia Juice - Manjal Karisalai juice
18. Rose Apple Bark Juice- Naval Pattai Juice

This medicine is given in a dose of 1 pill only once in a day preferably in the morning with suitable adjuvants like honey. the purgation produced by this medicine can be stopped by giving lemon juice or Butter milk.
