Govt. of Tamilnadu Promotes Siddha Medicines for Dengue.

Govt of Tamilnadu officially announced the efficacy of Papaya Leaf Juice in the management of Dengue fever. They also published the use of Nilavembu Kudineer and juice of Malai vembu two other siddha medicines along with papaya leaf juice in the dengue condition. The chief Secretary to Tamilnadu Govt. instructed all District collectors and healthcare officials to make necessary arrangements for the continuous supply of above said medicine to the public.

 

Nilavembu Kudineer and Adathodai Manapagu for Dengue - Research Finding.

Yes, Siddha Medicines have powerful medicines to beat the epidemics and also with scientific proof. The effectiveness of the combination of Nilavembu Kudineer and Adathodai manapagu, two siddha medicines, in the management of Dengue fever is researched by a group of scientists from Govt. siddha Medical college, Playamkottai and Siddha Clinical Research Unit, Palayamkottai. The research findings are published in the International journal of Current Research. The achievement is done by reserchers Dr. Kalai Arasi.R, Dr. Jeeva Gladys.R, Dr. Elangovan.S, and Dr.Soundararajan.D.K of Govt siddha Medical college Palayamkottai and Dr.Mubarak.H and Dr.Kanakarajan.A of Siddha Clinical Research Unit, Palayamkottai.

 

 

 

According to the research paper the combination showed good response in throbocytopenia in dengue fever. This combination is safe even in paediatric age group without any adverse effects.

King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research is unique in its activities functioning under Director of Medical Education and Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu. The Institute has been established keeping in mind protection of mankind from scourging infections. The King institute has gradually grown with all round scientific and technological advancements. To this date it is one of the referral centers for bacterial and viral diseases in Tamil Nadu.

Research is on at the King Institute to test out Nilavembu kudineer. The primary results of the research shows that it is the highly effective antipyretic and antiviral drug. The Govt. of Tamil Nadu decided to take patent for this special classical siddha medicine, for its curative action in Dengue fever.

 The Government of Tamil Nadu is one of the few state governments that has been aggressively promoting the use of herbal and SIDDHA medicines for the control of dengue and other viral fevers. This initiative is being personally reviewed by the chief minister herself and hence is being implemented very well in the state.

The government has recommended the extracts of papaya leaves, mountain neem leaves and Andrographis paniculata (Nilavembu in Tamil) for the prevention and treatment of dengue fever. The last one is available along with other herbs as Nilavembu Kudineer Chooranam in almost all Siddha hospitals, dispensaries, Siddha section of primary herbal centers and other hospitals in the state. Siddha vaidyars are also dispensing freshly prepared extracts of all herbals. The programme has caught on well as the government’s approval has helped people believe in the prescribed herbals.
